Inspiring Change from Indonesia

tsapscoliosis

TSAP is honored to present the story of Dorothy as she educated children in Indonesia about scoliosis. Her experience is very heartwarming, and we are grateful for her commitment to increasing scoliosis awareness in the Indonesian community. Below is her inspiring story.

"On January 31st, 2022 I got a chance to present the signs of scoliosis and its potential complications. The audience was children of ages 5 to 15, and they were so excited to see the poster from TSAP that I translated to our language, Indonesian. We also played games that TSAP provides on the website, and the kids with the highest score received presents after I checked their score on the games. It was a fun experience to get to learn what scoliosis is and why it is important to have some knowledge of it, and then share it to the children.
When we were playing the Unlock the Code game, we were given numbers to sum up and find the letters which were defined by the numbers we found before. After we had completed the letters, some of the kids came up to me and asked me what the sentence said. When I translated what 'Always believe and you will reach your dreams' means in our language, they were smiling, and I will always remember that moment. After all, TSAP is not just a scoliosis awareness organization, but also a place for youth like me to spread positivity and do what I could do for the society."
